Part 1 - Mindfulness: A Healthy Practice for Work and LifeCalmness is available for you too. Enjoy an experiential session designed to bring presence, peace, and contentment. Savor deep breaths, honor diastole, and experience mindful self-compassion. Many in health care find practicing mindfulness and self-compassion challenging. In this session, you will practice and learn a few simple and accessible tools to help you up regulate your parasympathetic nervous system. You also will discover how and why these tools are a performance, productivity, happiness, and sustainability tool for those who work in health care.
No special equipment, clothing, or previous knowledge of mindfulness is needed.
1:45-2:45 p.m.
Part 2 - Mindful Yoga for Healers to Relax, Connect, and RestoreAttend to mind, body, and spirit. Soak in a pause. Align, stretch, and strengthen. Leave feeling nourished with fresh perspective, feeling lighter, happier, and healthier. Dr. Mahoney has been teaching mindful yoga to her colleagues in health care throughout the pandemic as a gift. Her classes are specifically designed to help exhausted, burned out, overwhelmed healers restore, replete, and replenish. Yoga can't solve the challenges inherent in the practice of health care today, but it can help you find relief, more ease, calmness, and presence as you work towards better.
Loose, comfortable clothing recommended. No previous yoga experience is needed. Yoga mats will be provided.
